CMF Headphone Pro has physical EQ slider, 100-hour battery
CMF, the budget-focused sub-brand slated to become a standalone subsidiary of Nothing, has launched its first over-ear wireless headphones, the CMF Headphone Pro. The device features a unique physical EQ slider and will launch in the U.S. on October 7, 2025.
The design of the Headphone Pro emphasizes soft, round earcups and cushions, complemented by a well-padded headband. This aesthetic presents a contrast to the more angular design of the parent company’s Nothing Headphone 1, which debuted in July. The CMF model eschews touch-sensitive panels for tactile buttons engineered for easy location and discernment. It includes a round power and Bluetooth button on one side and a matching customizable action button on the other, which is configured using the Nothing X app. The headphones also incorporate a multi-function roller control, a feature borrowed from the Headphone 1, for adjusting volume, managing media playback, and controlling the presence of ambient sounds.
A distinctive feature of the Headphone Pro is a control called the Energy Slider. This physical slider enables users to quickly adjust the device’s treble and bass balance without opening the companion Nothing X app to access software EQ settings. The headphones are priced at $99, a lower price point than the $299 Nothing Headphone 1. Initial color options include dark gray, light green, and light gray. For further personalization, users can purchase $25 replacement ear cushions, which are available in bright orange or light green to create a color contrast with the main headphone body.
The CMF Headphone Pro offers adaptive active noise cancellation, a technology that automatically adjusts the intensity of its sound dampening based on the level of ambient noise in the user’s environment. The headphones are powered by a 720 mAh battery. According to CMF, a full charge can deliver up to 100 hours of playback. However, with the adaptive ANC feature enabled, the maximum playback time is reduced to 50 hours. The headphones are available immediately in the EU and UK, preceding the scheduled U.S. release.
Even with ANC active, the 50-hour battery performance is 15 hours longer than that of the Nothing Headphone 1. This duration also surpasses the battery life of the Sony WH-1000XM6, which tops out at 40 hours per charge, or 30 hours with ANC enabled. For rapid power restoration, a five-minute charge provides up to four hours of listening time. The Headphone Pro can also be recharged by connecting them directly to many smartphones using a USB-C cable.
